Students survey the destruction of several trees on the northwest corner of the school grounds after school Thursday. The cutting, which was part of the renovation plan, was temporarily halted by Principal Mike Wortman in response to concerns raised by students, staff, and members of the community. One of the trees that was cut down had been planted in memory of Dr. Charles Jones, a former LHS vice principal who died of cancer in the late '80s.
